The Vancouver’s first ISO KING Competition!

Despite the freezing weather this winter, a fierce and heated basketball competition was happening at Sunset Community Centre, and that is The Vancouver’s first ISO KING Competition!

Nearly Fifty Players Competed During the Event

After months of planning and organizing by the staff from ISO KING, registration was filled immediately and became full within a week. 48 passionate basketball enthusiasts were all eager to demonstrate their skills on the ISO KING stage. Noticeably, some players also came from other cities so they could compete with other players who share the same interest in Vancouver.

In order to provide a better experience for players and smooth transition for the audience, the first ISO King’s consisted of several match formats. During the first round, 3 players would compete in the King-of-Court format and only 1 player would advance to the Sweet 16. Then, rest of the players that advanced would compete head-to-head to avoid elimination. Most importantly, any little mistakes can cause you the championship.

Under the fast paced environment and the help from professional referees, every player was laser focused and determined to showcase their skills.

The Upcoming of the Dark Horse!

The fascinating aspect with basketball competitions is not just about the heavily favored players compete against each other, but also the potential to see unexpected match results.

In our First ISO King, we’ve got multiple dark horses that shocked everyone.

Jack Dai is the winner of our first ISO KING and he is only a 17 years old high school student. During those several intense matches against experienced and skilled players, Jack definitely went ‘Beast Mode’ and secured his title.

With great rhythm of the game and accurate shooting, Jack was able to control the pace of the game at his will and finish the game with his impeccable shooting. Noticeably, his mental toughness impressed everyone as he was composed under pressure against other experience players and showed no fear or agitation. Jack is truly a CLUTCH player on the court.

Luck was also on Jack’s side during his road to the title as he did not have to compete during his first round because the other two players were not able to compete due to personal reasons. The draw allowed Jack to conserve his energy and became a factor to win the title.

However, Jack is undisputedly the best One-on-One high school basketball player in the first Vancouver ISO King! We are now all familiar with Jack’s name and he also won $300 cash prize as the champion.

Jack’s not the only dark horse in this competition as the player who finished second, Vincent Zeng is another high school player that amazed us with his well-rounded skills, accurate shooting, physicality and his lightning fast first-step.

Vincent lost against Jack during the Sweet 16 and went to the lower bracket in the next round. However, Vincent bounced back immediately and advanced all the way to the final with his skills.

With a head-to-head match between these two talented players in the final, Vincent was very close to the title but came up short with a 2-point loss after playing several rounds prior to the final. The final score cannot simply define Vincent’s brilliance in this competition and he showed the crowd a wonderful display of skills.

Hey! I Am Yogost Fully Supports Players to Win

The first ISO King players’ brilliant performances were not the only bright spot of the event, another bright spot was our Platinum sponsor, Hey! I Am Yogost.

We would also like to thanks Mr. Clean Auto Care as our Gold Sponsors by providing every player a $10 Voucher! By having players to drive in a clean and organized vehicle, Mr. Cleans helps players to recover faster after the intense matches.

Although it’s only ISO King’s first event, the result was unexpectedly successful. Our success would not happen without the contribution from every single player, the two fantastic sponsors, and every staff and family members.
